Through the first 3 quarters of 2012, there have been 44 sales in Vail Village.  The sales have average listing price of $3,609,920 and an average selling price of $3,112,712.

Colorado 2% Withholding

In the sale of a home, Colorado state law requires a settlement agent to withhold 2% of the sales price for properties of $100,000 or more when certain circumstances exist.  Generally, this law affects non-Colorado residents or those parties moving out of state and not purchasing another residence.  Withholding a portion of the proceeds ensures that the seller will file a tax return with the state and the state will receive its capital gains tax.

Eagle County and Vail April Real Estate Sales Show Significant Increase

April real estate showed a significant gain over 2011 with both dollar volume and transactions above 2011 numbers.  April had an increase of 24% in sales volume over last April with $124,475,200, and a 27% increase in transactions with 135.  This creates an overall average sales price of $922,039 for April.
